The PlayStation Show UK’s 24-Hour Gaming Marathon IV – raising funds and awareness for Special Effect #24GMIV

On April 30th through to May 1st, 2017, our friends over at The PlayStation Show UK will be gaming for 24-hours (live, via Twitch) aiming to raise funds and awareness for a wonderful charity. That charity is called Special Effect, and this is what they do.

We put fun and inclusion back into the lives of people with physical disabilities by helping them to play video games – Special Effect.

This will be the fourth year The PlayStation Show UK campaign, in support of the fantastic work Special Effect achieve for folks and their families. Last year TPSUK, along with friends old and new, raised over £1,000 with kind and generous donations.

24 Hour Gaming Marathon IV. Everyone knows that each subsequent sequel gets better, and the use of roman numerals just makes it even better – The PlayStation Show UK.

£1,250 is the target goal set for the 24-hour Gaming Marathon IV event. Our hosts, Alan, Aaron, Lee and Chris, will be live streaming from 10 am (UK time) Sunday, April 30th. All are welcome to participate – with the promise of much banter and hilarious shenanigans. Those final hours, as the gents near the end of their marathon gaming session, will be when they’ll need our encouragement the most.

Sounds cool, yeah? See you there – how else can people help? Be sure to follow The PlayStation Show UK on social media for #24GMIV event info. Please do share those updates too, this is a great way to show your support.

Folks can contribute to the campaign directly by donating to the Just Giving page, linked below. Brave the depths of your sofas, check those old coat pockets! Any help would be so very welcome, and most appreciated.

Just to note, any donation of £5 will see automatic entry into a raffle prize draw, with some very cool goodies up for grabs (with more yet to be added).

  • Check out those raffle details here.

If you can lend assistance, in any way, on behalf of Special Effect and the PlayStation Show UK, thank you so much.
